Three more Utah counties file joint lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies

SALT LAKE CITY — Three more counties and the counties’ joint well being division have joined others in Utah suing opioid producers and vendors.

Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett Counties, along side the TriCounty Health Department, filed a joint lawsuit Thursday with a group of personal legislation corporations in a grievance filed in Utah’s Eighth Judicial District Court.

The counties allege that the companies named within the lawsuit have created the opioid disaster thru “misinformation, false claims and marketing, generated by the manufacturers and distributors of the drugs” for the reason that 1990s.

Defendants indexed within the lawsuit come with Purdue Pharma L.P., Endo Pharmaceuticals, Allergan, Teva, Cephalon, Janssen and others that branded opioids together with OxyContin, Percocet, and Fentora, in addition to generic opioids.

Salt Lake, Summit, Tooele and Weber counties have already filed equivalent complaints, as has the Utah Attorney General’s Office.Three more Utah counties file joint lawsuit against pharmaceutical companies
