SeaTac • Officials at Sea-Tac International Airport say an Alaska Airlines aircraft that was stolen through an airline worker and has crashed in Washington state.
Airport officers say in a tweet Friday night time that an airline worker “conducted an unauthorized takeoff without passengers.”
Witnesses reported seeing the aircraft being chased through army airplane close to the airport.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office mentioned on Twitter that initial data urged mechanic had stolen the airplane. The tweet mentioned the crash could have been brought about through the mechanic “doing stunts in air or lack of flying skills.”
A Coast Guard spokeswoman mentioned the company was responding to a record of a smoke plume and imaginable aircraft crash. Petty Officer Ali Flockerzi mentioned a 45-foot vessel was headed to the scene.
