Authorities in Mesquite this week arrested a California man wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Utah, police say.

Mesquite police and Utah law enforcement worked together to find Henry Pittman, 23, of San Diego after he fled Utah, according to a press release.

Mesquite detectives located Pittman in a casino Wednesday afternoon. They also found crystal methamphetamine in his possession, the release said.

Pittman was charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, one felony count of fugitive from justice and one misdemeanor count of resisting a public officer.

Due to the felony charge, Pittman was transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. He has a hearing Monday at 7:30 a.m., according to court records. He will be extradited to Utah, the news release said.
