“I think that he should voluntarily resign,” Love stated on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront” with anchor Kate Bolduan.
The House Ethics Committee introduced previous Thursday that it had gained details about Farenthold during the last two weeks and used to be investigating the Texas Republican.
Love stated she concept that as a result of the pervasive tradition of sexual harassment, Farenthold would possibly not have even learned his alleged habits used to be improper.
“I don’t think he thinks he’s done anything wrong, but the fact is, someone was paid off,” Love stated. “Where he may not feel like his behavior was inappropriate, obviously somebody did. Obviously people felt uncomfortable.”
Love’s feedback on Thursday have been some of the first calls from her celebration for Farenthold’s resignation.
Love stated Franks’ resignation is “disheartening,” and that whilst there’s a want for due procedure, the tradition round sexual harassment should alternate.
“We have got to start getting comfortable having uncomfortable conversations in the workplace and at home, and talking about what’s appropriate and what’s inappropriate,” Love stated.
She stated that any of her colleagues who felt they’d dedicated sexual harassment had to step down and to take action sooner than an investigation pressured them.
“I think that anyone who feels like they’ve done something wrong should voluntarily resign. I really do. And I think that members of Congress should hold themselves to a higher standard,” Love stated. “We need to be examples of appropriate behavior, at the very least.”
